We are delighted to announce that a Model Law Library has been published on the Queensland Judgments Website.
It is able to be accessed by clicking the text ‘Model Law Library’ located at the top of each page of this website or clicking here.
The aim of the Model Law Library is to compile a list of legal texts, across all practice areas, which are regarded as standard works in their field. In effect, the list seeks to produce a model law library for the assistance of legal practitioners.
The list primarily comprises current works. However, it also includes older or historical works, which continue to be of practical importance in their field.
Ready access to all works on the list is available through the Supreme Court Library. The catalogue of the Supreme Court Library is accessible here.
This list was developed in consultation with leading members of the judiciary and the profession. We thank all who have assisted with this project, particularly those who have allowed us to mention their role as the nominator of specific texts. We also are very grateful for the guidance of Sarah Spottiswood of the Queensland Bar, who undertook the leading role in the development of this project.
As this is intended to be a useful reference library for the profession we welcome your suggestions. If there is a text you find particularly useful that is not on the list, or if you would like to be identified as the nominator of a book, please make your submission here.
It is intended that the list will be regularly reviewed and updated.
