CIVIL JURISDICTION
JUDGE ROBIN QC
ANNABELLA DOUGALL DE CANDIA (ALSO KNOWN AS ANNABELLE CONNOLLY) | Plaintiff |
and
ELSIE JANE HOLMES (ALSO KNOWN AS JEAN HOLMES) | Defendant |

..DATE 30/09/2005
JUDGMENT
HIS HONOUR: As expected, there are no appearances today. Reasons were published to the parties on the 10th of August 2005, for the Court's conclusions, following a trial on 20th and 21st July.
Following the publication of those reasons, which can be found at [2005] QDC 242, Mr Myers, on behalf of the plaintiff, supplied further supplementary submissions on the 24th of August 2005, over and above the submissions referred to in paragraph 50 of the published reasons.
The communication, a copy of which went to the defendant's counsel, I will mark Exhibit 14 and place on the file.
ADMITTED AND MARKED “EXHIBIT 14”
HIS HONOUR: There is also on file a print out of email communications, passing from my associate to counsel for the parties.
Mr Myers' “Supplementary Submission in Response to Provisional Judgment” included in Exhibit 14 is, on the face of things, reasonable. There is no occasion, it seems to me, to look beyond that, given the defendant's lack of interest in challenging any part of it, notwithstanding advice that orders would be made as proposed by Mr Myers in those circumstances.
That being the case, the Court's order is that the plaintiff have judgment against the defendant for $24,687.87, together with costs on the top Magistrates Court scale.
