DATE 17/04/2003
JUDGMENT
HIS HONOUR: This is an application by Ian David Jessup, the receiver appointed by order of this Court on the 27th of September 2002 to receive and to manage certain property of the respondents.
The receiver seeks the approval of accounts for professional services provided in respect of his receipt and management of the various items of property identified in that order.
The material before me sets out the schedules of fees which have been applied in determining the amount of the account. It sets out the hours worked by Jessup and Partners, detailing the number of hours by professional staff and support staff.
The quantum of the fees have been considered by the Australian Securities and Investment Corporation who is the applicant for the appointment of the receiver. That corporation has indicated its acceptance of the quantum of the fees which have been sought to be approved.
I have considered the quantum of the fees and, having regard to the work which is undertaken by the receiver detailed in various affidavits placed before me relating to the receivership, I am satisfied that the charges are appropriate in the circumstances.
…
HIS HONOUR: I make orders in terms of the draft initialled by me and placed with the papers.
